Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) – Rubella Task Group

This Task Group reports to the Laboratory Standardization Issue Group.

Head: Tamara Kruk

Background

The external quality control monitoring program was initiated in 2006 to monitor diagnostic test behaviour in real-time. Anti-rubella IgF and anti-HBs analytes were chosen to pilot the program and the HBV-Rubella Task Group was formed to co-ordinate and lead the pilot.

Since its inception the program has expanded to include anti-Rubella IgM and is looking to include additional Hepatitis Markers

2009-2010 Priorities

The HBV-Rubella task group identified the development of external reference standards for HBV and Rubella as their priority for the 2009-2010 cycle.
