Listeria Task Group
This Task Group reports to the Water and Food Borne Enterics Issue Group.
Background
The Listeria Task Group was formed to address laboratory recommendations stemming from the 2008 Canadian Listeriosis outbreak. Listeriosis is a bacterial infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes. The outbreak was discovered in July 2008 when normal surveillance detected an increase in cases reported.
