Areas of Expertise and Public Health Promotion

CPHLN utilizes the strength of its members to provide insight to, and draw technical expertise from, all fields of laboratory research and diagnostics. This allows our network to provide consultation and advice in all stages of Canadian public health policy development.

CPHLN member organizations support improved public health for Canada.  CPHLN members actively participate and provide laboratory guidance in a wide range of national and international government and external stakeholder groups.

The CPHLN continues to develop strong working relationships with many international organizations and associations including: the World Health Organization (WHO); the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL).

CPHLN works closely with its affiliate organization, APHL, in the United States to improve laboratory capabilities, training, and response. The APHL and CPHLN signed a memorandum of understanding in September of 2008 to cement cooperation and collaboration on aspects of laboratory public health between our two organizations.
