Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines

The Government of Canada has released the 3rd edition of the Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines.

These guidelines reflect current biosafety and biocontainment principles and practices for public health and microbiology laboratories in Canada.

This publication include guidance on biological safety; handling infectious substances; laboratory design and physical requirements; commissioning, certification and recertification; large scale production of microorganisms; and program specific guidelines.
